Frequently Asked Questions
By default, your server comes with a bandwidth of 100 Mbit/s. For more demanding requirements, you can upgrade the connection speed to 1000 Mbit/s (1 Gbit/s).
Each server type comes with an individual traffic quota. You can expand this at any time if needed. If your inclusive traffic volume is depleted, your server will not be deactivated – instead, the bandwidth will be temporarily reduced to 10 Mbit/s. This still allows you to operate normal applications without restrictions.
An IPv6 only server is accessible exclusively via IPv6 addresses and offers a cost-effective alternative to IPv4. IPv4 servers additionally have an IPv4 address and are therefore accessible for older systems and applications. IPv6 only servers are ideal for modern applications and development environments that are already fully IPv6 compatible.
No, for technical reasons it is not possible to add an IPv4 address to an IPv6 only server after deployment. If you need an IPv4 address, we recommend booking a server with IPv4 support directly.
IPv6 is the successor to the older IPv4 standard and while it offers significantly more IP addresses, the transition is challenging for many companies and providers. Existing systems, hardware, and applications need to be adapted or renewed. Additionally, some older applications work exclusively with IPv4. Through temporary solutions like NAT (Network Address Translation), IPv4 can continue to be used, which reduces the urgency of transition for many users.
Yes, of course! We have different packages available as “upgrades”, in case you need more than the included traffic for your VPS server.
